Little Miss Einstien

Ok, I know that every mother believes her child is a genius so you'll just have to indulge me as I take a moment to boast about my daughters accomplishments. After all this blog really is all about her! I am bummed because I don't have any pics of her in the actual acts that I will talk about, but I though these pics of her reading would work because she LOVES books! She is my little bookworm! She brings me books all day long and tells me, "Ina wead a boook!"

Brenna has always been ahead with her talking. She said her first work "HI" at 3 1/2 months. This time last year, before she turned 1 in Jan. she was saying two and three word sentences like "What is it?" and "Touch it?" Now she literally says new words everyday and talks in sentences up a storm! I don't have an actual vocabulary word count for her yet but I really need to work on that!

She can count to three. If there are more than three than she says " One, twoo, whee, eight, ten!" It is so cute. She can recognize some numbers too; her favorite is the #9. you can hold up a 9 and ask her what it is and she'll say "nine" in her sweet little sing-song voice. I love it!

She also knows her shapes. You can ask her where the triangle, square, rectangle, etc. and she will point to the right shape. Her favorite shapes she will actually say: "harwt" (heart), "obawl" (oval), "cirsle" (circle), and "staw" (star). She finds them everywhere too. Like the other day she and I were eating lunch and she took her little finger and traced the outside of the plate and with a huge smile said "cirsle." It was so adorable! Or at the park she'll find a rock "obal" she say, or the bolts in the benches "cirsle." She finds shapes everywhere!

Now if a.ll of this wasn't amazing enough, last night she amazed me to the point of being speechless. We were reading this new book that her Mimmie (that's my mom) got her and on the top there is one of those slider erasable things (I don't know what they're called). Anyway, you can practice writing letters. Well after we finished reading the book, Brenna was drawing on the erasable thing and started what I thought was just random letters at first. But then I realized she was saying "B...'aRw (R)...E...N...A!" She missed an "n" but holy cow, she spelt her own name!!! I am completely amazed by her each and every day! What will she do next? I am so grateful that I get to be a stay at home mom, so that I get to be here for each of the sweet, intelligent, thoughtful, funny, and miraculous things that she does every day!
