I know it has been a long time since I posted anything and who wants to read anything negative, but these feelings must be expressed. Tonight I watched my fear become reality as Sen. John McCain conceded to Obama. I remember back when Clinton got elected. I was so angry. Then when he was reelected to a second term, I was outraged. With this election, I honestly feel discouragement and despair. We are in for a tough road ahead.
I want to say though how grateful I am to know that we are not forsaken, nor need we feel hopeless. I feel courage to face these "perilous times" that we are in because I know that our God loves us enough to not leave us helpless in these last days. He has given us a Prophet. The first weekend of October, we had the privilege and blessing of listening to our prophet, President Thomas S. Monson as well as apostles and other disciples of Jesus Christ. I found particular comfort in President Monson's talk "Finding Joy in the Journey" and President Boyd K. Packer's talk, "The Test," in addition to the talks given in stake conference this past Sunday. I would highly recommend reading these talks. You can find the first two I mentioned on http://www.lds.org/ and then click the link to "General Conference." If you have any trouble, let me know.
On a positive note, Sylvia Allen won in her district! Yea!!!!!! And I personally cried in relief that Prop 102 passed! What a relief!!!!! Great job to all of you who did all that you could do in an effort to support this vitally important issue!
"Let us all press on in the work of the Lord... Fear not thought the enemy derives, we must courage for the Lord is on our side. We must heed not what the wicked may say, but the Lord alone we will obey." Hymn: Let Us All Press On

It was a rough night...but I'm determined to be positive.
I loved the talk and phrase "Finding Joy in the Journey".... It is so needed in my life;)
I know how you feel. It is pretty depressing but I am so grateful that prop 102 passed. It is good to know that we are taught correct principles and when bad things happen we are taught to be ready.
Hey guys,
I found you off of Nicole Barnetts blog. I didn't know you had a blog going, how fun to see your little girl with her dog. That is so cute. I hope you don't mind that I stopped by.

First of all I'm jealous of how well you can put things into words. I stink at it. 2nd happy day that prop 102 passed. 3rd I'm going to call you back....LOL...I promise!!!!
I felt the same way on election night and still do with all that is happening around our beautiful temples. It's what the scriptures talk about when they say, good is made to look bad, and bad to look good. Thank goodness for the gospel!!
